Shipboard processing of source segregated garbage

Segregation at source is important to recover recyclable materials such as carton, paper, plastics, glass, aluminium, steel and textiles. With longer voyages or in position at sea the garbage volumes and available space is a concern. In particular for processing of the segregated waste fractions.

Vessel type: Cable Laying Vessel. 110 pax.

Solution: a Compactor and/or Shredder combination can be used for volume reduction. To prevent mixing of segregated recyclables an integrated system of wheeled interchangeable containers is advised. Each container is dedicated to a fraction and fitted with custom made Big Bags FIBC. Custom made for offshore purpose including inner liner, skirt, top flap and lifting loops for safe and ease of discharge to shore reception facilities.
